This clip is an alternate version of some clips that made the final cut. William Kotke speaks about how people have been inventing ways for humanity to live in better adaptation with the planet, while Michael Reynolds explains his term 'Biotecture'.
This sequence unfortunately got cut from the film. It was a strong contender until the last few revisions. I cut it because the end of the film needed to lift off, and there were too many brilliant ideas slowing down the pace. Luckily, we have a place to share these clips!
I love this sequence as it is. Unfortunately when we introduced Thomas Banyacya's U.N. speech the structure had to change as we were merging the two.
